Comprehensive planning, delivered as a relationship.

Most financial advice is delivered in pieces. An investment recommendation here, a tax tip there, an insurance product somewhere else — each one reasonable on its own, none of them coordinated with the others. The result is a financial life that looks like a collection of decisions instead of a plan.

Cornerstone is built around the opposite premise: that the value of planning lies in how the pieces fit together, and in the relationship that keeps them fitting together as life changes.

What we work on

Our work covers the full picture. That starts with comprehensive financial planning — cash flow, balance sheet, goals, risk, insurance — the foundation everything else builds on. From there, investment management is constructed to fit the plan, not the other way around, with portfolios allocated and located across taxable and tax-advantaged accounts in service of what the plan actually requires.

As retirement approaches, the focus shifts to income strategy — Social Security timing, withdrawal sequencing, healthcare bridge planning, and the interaction between all of them. Tax-aware planning runs through every other area rather than being bolted on at year-end, including Roth conversion analysis, RMD management, and coordination with your CPA at the moments that matter most. And estate coordination — beneficiary review, trust considerations, intergenerational planning, charitable intent — ensures the financial plan and estate plan are telling the same story.

Working alongside your other professionals

Comprehensive planning works best when your financial advisor, CPA, and estate attorney are talking to each other. We make a point of coordinating with the other professionals in your life — sharing relevant context, flagging issues that cross disciplines, and making sure no decision falls through the gap between specialists.

If you don't yet have a CPA or estate attorney you trust, we can help identify ones who fit your situation.

A planning relationship, not a transaction

Engagements at Cornerstone are ongoing. We don't deliver a binder and disappear. The first months are about understanding the full picture and building the plan that follows from it. The years after are about implementation, adjustment, and keeping the plan aligned with the life it's meant to support.
